Test Stars for Titan Occultations!

Testing the instruments:

At the moment, the stars to be occulted are difficult to observe for testing purposes.

Therefore:

For testing your camera system as well as the filter for the observations, stars have been selected, which are very close in magnitude and color to the stars to be occulted.

In order to find the star very easy, stars near Vega have been selected. The stars are according to the SIMBAD database:

For testing the first star event:

Basic data : HIP 92114 -- Star

ICRS 2000.0 coordinates

A chart with the stars and with Vega can be seen here.

For observers in the far South (South Africa, Namibia) you have to observe that star early in the evening!

Test your cameras with these stars! Test your filters. More infos for the filters will soon be available on this Website.
